There comes a point in every believer’s life when the noise of religion starts to fade, and the simple, powerful call of Jesus—“Follow Me”—rings louder than ever. That’s where I find myself right now. This isn’t about rules or rituals; it’s about relationship. It’s about learning to walk with Jesus with an open heart, an honest faith, and a willingness to let Him reshape everything.
I’m a follower of Jesus Christ, and by the grace of God, that’s who I am—and who I want to be, more than anything else. Over the years, I’ve been blessed to spend a lot of time in God’s Word, the Bible. But I’ve also come to see that I carry some religious baggage—old ways of thinking and doing things that sometimes get in the way of simply walking with Jesus.
Lately, God’s been stirring in my heart a desire to let go of that baggage and return to something simpler and more genuine—to really know Jesus and follow Him closely. My hope is to keep my eyes on Him, to listen carefully to His words, to learn from His disciples, and to see how all of Scripture points back to Him.
These writings are just my way of sharing that journey—one step, one prayer, one discovery at a time. If your heart longs for the same kind of closeness with the Lord, I’d love for you to walk this road with me. Maybe we can learn from Him together.
Simply a Follower,
Alan W. Harris
